Prof. Sayeed Ahmed Siddique
Professor Sayeed Ahmed Siddiky received his MBBS and FCPS from Dhaka Medical College and the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons, respectively. In 1995, he received an FRCS degree from Glasgow’s Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.
He then served as a licenced specialist surgeon in Glasgow’s Victoria Infirmary and Canniesburn Hospital. It’s worth noting that Canniesburn Hospital is one of the main plastic surgery referral centres in the United Kingdom. In that hospital, he took part in a number of educational programmes and FLAP courses. At Newcastle General Hospital in England, Prof. Siddiky collaborated with a variety of plastic surgeons. In 1993 and 1996, he was awarded Fellowship by the International College of Surgeons (FICS) and the prestigious American College of Surgeons (FACS).
He organised and ran a plastic surgery department of a private medical college in Dhaka after returning to Bangladesh. In Bangladesh, he conducted thousands of operations, some for the first time. He has over twenty-five articles published in national and international journals. He is a professor of surgery at Pioneer Dental College in addition to serving at CSCL. Dr. Siddiky is also a credentialed international plastic surgeon for Operation Smile, an international non-profit organisation that provides free surgeries to cleft lip, palate, and burn patients in a variety of countries around the world.
He was named Outstanding People of the Twentieth Century for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery by the International Biographical Center of Cambridge, England in 1999, and Presidential Seal of Honor for Cosmetic Plastic Surgery by the American Biographical Institute, USA, in 2000, for his outstanding achievements.
In 2002, the Zainul Abedin Smriti Parishad awarded him a Gold Medal for his contribution at home.
