Dr. Gustavo Almanzar
Dr. Gustavo Almanzar graduated from the Iberoamerican University (UNIBE) in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, with a medical degree. Dr.Gustavo Almanzar specialized in General Surgery at the Santa Casa da Misericordia Hospital after graduating as a physician and working in the General Surgery unit supervised by Oscar Brando Lira MD. He completed a pre-requisite for Plastic Surgery in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, after which he specialized in Plastic Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University Hospital (HU) of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) in Florianopolis, Brazil.
Dr. Gustavo Almanzar is the only Dominican to have graduated from this Plastic Surgery service in Florianópolis, which is noted for being the origin of many of Brazil’s most famous worldwide models and for having the finest standards of beauty and Plastic Surgery results in the country.
Dr. Gustavo Almanzar has presented multiple scientific and clinical articles at international conferences, as well as completing numerous rotations and courses in the US and Brazil. Rotations in the cosmetic and reconstructive surgery residency programme at Langome Medical Center (NYU) with Dr. Joseph Mccarthy are among them. Rotation at the UCI Irvine Medical Center’s Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Unit with Dr. Al Aly, Orange County, California, USA. Training courses for hair transplantation are among the various courses available. Among them is the Dr. Carlos Uebel Transplant Clinic in Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil.
Dr. Gustavo Almanzar has considerable experience in body contouring procedures such as abdominoplasty, breast augmentation, breast reduction, breast lift, liposuction, and facial procedures like as rhinoplasty, otoplasty (prominent ear correction), blepharoplasty, and chin augmentation, among others.
