There are three main types of Penile Implants.

1.Three-piece inflatable pump      

The three-piece Inflatable pump consists of two cylinders in the penis, an inflatable pump in the testicle and a fluid filled container in the abdomen. All these components are connected to special tubing.  Squeezing the pump in the testicle causes fluid to moves from the container into the cylinders, creating an erection. When the release valve is squeezed, fluid moves out of the cylinder and back into the container, making the penis flaccid.When inflated, a three-piece Inflatable pump planting works and feels like a natural erection. How it works. Gently squeeze the concealed pump in your scrotum several times. This moves the saline solution from the reservoir into the cylinders. As the cylinders fill, the penis becomes erect and firm.
To end the erection, simply press a “deflation site” on the pump. Deflating the cylinders transfers the fluid back to the reservoir and the penis becomes flaccid.

 

2.Two-piece Inflatable    

This type of implant is similar to the three-piece Inflatable device and works the same way.However, instead of the container filled with a different fluid, the liquid is kept inside the pump in the testicle. However, the two pieces Inflatable device is not hard as a three-piece implant.

3.Semi-rigidor Malleable Rods             

In this type of penile implant, the surgeon imposes two flexible rods in the penis. Regardless of the circumstances, transplants do not change in size or hardness and maintain a semi-hard state. However, they can be easily set to different positions. The implants are usually bent downwards, but it can be straightened in the upper position when necessary for sexual intercourse.

Placement- The surgeon gently places two bendable, “positionable” rods into the penis. The rods have an outer coating of silicone and inner stainless steel core or interlocking plastic joints. These enable the man to place the penis in either the erect or flaccid position.

How safe is Penile Implants surgery?

Penile surgery is meant to cut the ligaments that suspend the front end of the penile shaft. This results in an extended penile shaft after the surgery, giving an illusion of a longer penis size.
