Dr. Dhir is a highly trained plastic and cosmetic surgeon with more than 30 years of experience in his field. He attended Govt. Medical College, Patiala, as an undergraduate and received his medical degree from Punjabi University, Patiala, Punjab, India. He did his postgraduate training in plastic and reconstructive surgery in an accredited training post at Rajendra Hospital, which is a multispecialty 1000 bedded hospital affiliated to the Government Medical College in Patiala. He achieved M.S. and M.Ch (Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery). Following that, he worked at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai (one of the largest tertiary cancer hospitals in India), as a clinical fellow, doing cancer reconstructive surgery. He was sponsored by the British Association of Plastic Surgeons to further his training in UK and had the opportunity to work in two big plastic surgery units there (East Grinstead and Newcastle Upon Tyne). He has done a fellowship in maxillo facial surgery from Ludiwigs-Maximilians University, Munich, Germany.
On his return to India, he started his own practice in New Delhi and joined Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, at its inception in 1995, in the capacity of a Senior Consultant Plastic and Cosmetic surgeon. Indraprastha Apollo Hospital is the first corporate hospital in India to be accredited by Joint Commission International.
Dr. Dhir has a special interest in cosmetic medicine and surgery. He is one of the pioneers in the world for ADRC (adipose-derived regenerative cell) enriched fat grafting for facial rejuvenation, scars and breast augmentation. Dr. Dhir believes that the foundation of beauty and wellness is a healthy body and mind. He works passionately to help you to achieve your beauty, fitness and health goals by creating an environment of expertise and excellence.
His other areas of interest are management of burn injuries, maxillo-facial injuries & pressure sores. His interest in sexual medicine led him to clear the examination for fellowship of the European Committee of Sexual Medicine. He specializes in the medical & surgical management of erectile dysfunction by penile implants and male and female genital aesthetic surgery. He travels extensively both in India and abroad to keep up-to-date with new developments in this field with a commitment for constant self-improvement.
He practices with honesty and integrity and makes the patient’s experience, safety and satisfaction his first priority. He has the honour of holding the post of the President of the Indian Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, for the year 2016 – 2017. He is the first plastic surgeon in India, to be accepted as an International Active member of American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is the Convener of the Healthcare division of the American Society of Quality in India.
