Dr. Luis Mejia
Luis Alberto Mejia Diaz received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) in the Dominican Republic in 2003. In 2009, he completed a postgraduate degree in General Surgery at the Central Hospital of the Armed Forces (HCFFAA), and in 2011, he moved to Caracas, Venezuela, to pursue a specialty in Plastic, Reconstructive, Aesthetic, and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Hospital Militar “Dr. Carlos Arvelo” until 2013.
Fellowship in Reconstructive Surgery Post-Cancer at Padre Machado Oncology Hospital in Caracas, Venezuela, is one of Dr. Mejia’s key specialty, and it is regarded a big merit in earning him a fellow in medicine.
Dr. Luis Mejia received significant training (both practical and theoretical) with Dr. David Morales Bello, who is regarded as the best surgeon in the field of Rhinoplasty (nose surgery) in Venezuela and much of Latin America, with more than 30 years of experience, and where the famous Dr. Robert Ray (Dr. 90210) was also trained.
In 2014, in Caracas, Venezuela, he worked as a plastic surgeon at Unidad Quirrgica Santa Rosa de Lima, C. C. Santa Rosa de Lima, Centro Metropolitano Ciruga Ambulatoria C.C.C.T., and Clnica VIDAMED in Sabana Grande.
By the end of 2014, he had returned to his native Dominican Republic, where he established a private practise at the Centro Ciruga Plástica y Lipoescultura, one of the city’s most prominent facilities (CECILIP). He also decided to teach General Surgery at the Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) as a result of the expertise he gained abroad.
He is quite demanding when it comes to results and, most importantly, prefers to maintain a safe environment to better serve the lives of people he works with. He is very passionate about his job and gives 100 percent to his professional ethics.
He describes himself as a person who is honest, nice, humble, happy, and family oriented.
Dr. Luis Alberto Mejia enjoys leading with love and professionalism, and one of his key responsibilities is to lend a helping hand, which is why he employs his talents and knowledge to assist children with congenital pathologies. As a result, he joined the Fundación “Nio Simón” in Monagas, Venezuela, where he assists infants born with cleft lip and palate, as well as other physical defects.
