Dr Gurhan graduated from the University of Hacettepe Medical Faculty in year 1977. He became a plastic surgery expert after finishing his 6-year residency program at the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department from 1977 to 1983. In 1988, he worked for three years at Houston Baylor Medical Faculty as a research assistant in the Plastic Surgery Department, as well as one year as an assistant professor. Prof. Dr. Gürhan has authored several scientific works to date. He has twice received the American Society of Plastic Surgery’s research award. He primarily does cosmetic surgery procedures.

Dr Gurhan served in different roles at Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, executive Committee like

Treasurer – (1992-1994), Secretary-General (1996-1998),

Then he became Member (1998-2000),

Later he served as Vice President (2004-2006)

Finally as President (2008-2010)
