
Dr. Carlos Lopez Collado
Dr. Carlos Alberto López Collado graduated from the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henrquez Urea (UNPHU) with a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1998. In the same year, he was appointed to the faculty of the university’s School of Medicine and Department of Biology. He volunteered at the Dominican Red Cross, where he participated in a variety of community service activities, including working with a team of medical researchers from the HIV and AIDS Program.
In Madrid, Spain, he earned a diploma in International Public Health from the Carlos III Institute of the National School of Health. He received his medical training in Brazil at the Marcilio Dias Naval Hospital in Rio de Janeiro and the Fluminense Plastic Surgery Clinic in Niterói. Professor Dr. Ronaldo Pontes, his mentor, is well-known for his contributions to plastic surgery, particularly facial rejuvenation.
Dr. López was known for his high level of commitment, passion, humanity, and, most importantly, responsibility during his training. He was invited to join the Fluminense Clinic’s Plastic Surgery Residency’s top medical staff, where he worked for around 5 years.
He has authored multiple scientific papers that have been presented at conferences and published in plastic surgery journals in both Brazil and the United States. Dr. López was trained in the Total Definer training programme by Dr. Alfredo Hoyos, the inventor of Vaser High Definition Liposculpture, in Bogotá, Colombia.
Dr. López Collado belongs to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), the Ibero-Latin American Federation of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (FILACAP), the Dominican Society of Aesthetic and Resconstructive Plastic Surgery (SODOCIPRE), the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery (SBCP), and the Dominican Association of Health Tourism (ADTS).
