Dr. Milind Wagh is a qualified Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon with an extensive experience of more than 20 years. He is also a full member of the International Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the apex body for qualified and trained cosmetic surgeons all over the world. He has been the ETHICON Professor in Cosmetic Surgery of the Association of Plastic Surgeons of India (APSI) for the year 2010. He is Deputy Editor of the Indian Journal of Plastic Surgery for the last 8 years. He is also a member of the Executive Council of APSI.
He was born in Mumbai and did his schooling at prestigious schools in various cities all over India. He attended the St.Xavier’s College, Mumbai for his pre-medical Junior College. He joined the Topiwala National Medical College, Mumbai for his undergraduate training and completed his MBBS in 1987 with a distinction in Gen. Surgery. He did his post-graduate training in General Surgery at the Nair Municipal General Hospital affiliated to the same Medical College and completed his M.S (General Surgery) in 1991 securing the 2nd rank among all candidates in the Mumbai University examinations.
In 1992, he joined the super-speciality course for the M.Ch (Plastic Surgery) degree at the Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College and Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General Hospital (Sion Hospital), Mumbai completing the same in 1994 with the first rank in the Mumbai University examination. His teacher and guide were the Internationally renowned Plastic Surgeon, Professor Ravin Thatte. He was immediately inducted onto the faculty of the same department as Lecturer /Assistant Professor in May 1994. He continued to work there until the end of 2005 after being promoted to Associate Professor in 2000.
In 1997, he received the rare honor of being accepted as a Clinical and Research Fellow for training in advanced Microsurgery at the world renowned Bernard O’Brien Institute of Microsurgery, St.Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne, Australia under one of the finest microsurgeons in the world, Professor Wayne Morrison. Dr. Wagh spent a fruitful year in Melbourne and has several publications in International Journals from his research work there.
Dr. Milind Wagh started private practice after his return from Melbourne. His main field of interest in that period was Reconstructive Hand and Microsurgery and he has an extensive experience of more than 20 years across the entire spectrum of this field.
Dr. Wagh started doing Cosmetic Surgery in 2000 while still doing a considerable amount of Reconstructive work. Like many fine microsurgeons all over the world, his clinical interests slowly metamorphosed, first towards providing more aesthetic results in Reconstructive Surgery and then since 2003, almost exclusively towards Cosmetic Surgery. His practice is now 95% Cosmetic Surgery and 5% Reconstructive Surgery. The latter entails only complex and difficult cases that he is still called upon to do, thanks to his extensive experience and sublime skills.
Dr. Wagh now performs the entire spectrum of Cosmetic surgical procedures from facelifts, blepharoplasties, ear-shaping, rhinoplasties and other facial cosmetic surgeries to body contouring and cosmetic breast surgery. He specializes in body-sculpting procedures, breast reshaping, and surgical facial rejuvenation.
